2001-2002 Winner of the University of Maryland Undergraduate Essay Prize in Linguistics

We are delighted to announce our selection for the 2001-2002 University of Maryland Undergraduate Essay Prize in Linguistics. The winner is:

Heather Bliss
Department of Linguistics
University of Calgary
for her paper,
"Acquisition of izafet compounds in Turkish".

The prize winner will receive $1000, and her paper will be published in the University of Maryland Working Papers in Linguistics. We will make available all honorable mentions on this web-site soon, for easy download (in pdf- and ps-formats).

• 1998-1999: Aniko Csirmaz for her paper "Verbal Modifiers as Incorporated Elements".
• 1999-2000: Jason Kandybowicz of Rutgers College for his paper "The reiterated numeral construction".
• 2000-2001: Avram Hy Derrow of the University of Michigan for his paper entitled "The Empirical Value of Differentiating Redundancy".

Each of these papers were published in the University of Maryland Working Papers in Linguistics.
