We invite you!
If you are a parent, we would like to extend an invitation to you and your
child to participate in an interesting set of studies on normal child development.
-
We each bring over 10 years of research experience to the study
of language and cognitive development in infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
-
Our studies take place in a comfortable, home-like setting at the
University of Maryland’s College Park campus.
Studies focus on children of different ages, up to 10 years old.
-
Parents participate with their children and are near to their child
at all times during the visit.
What will happen during your visit?
-
During the session, which lasts between 15 minutes and an hour,
we observe how the child responds to new objects and events.
-
For example, we may observe the child playing with new toys, or
we may show the child events on a puppet stage or video monitor,
and record how long he or she looks at them based on the questions
we ask.
-
Parking is free and children receive a small gift to take home
with them.
-
Parents enjoy the opportunity to play with their child and observe
the session in a relaxed environment.
