In running days I always loved mass participation races. So I couldn’t resist the chance to take in some of the UK’s biggest rides during a recent visit. Beautiful tours of some stunning parts of the UK. But I hadn’t anticipated the effect of all the climbing. Or the terror of some of the descents.
