I mainly study semantics and the syntax/semantics interface, especially comparatives, superlatives, modals, and sentence types; in acquisition, I look at kids' understanding of quantification.
I also do something like philosophy, esp. on the interaction of the linguistic and conceptual/extralinguistic cognitive systems.I am a co-founder and active member of PHLING, the philosophy & linguistics research group at UMD. I am a proud member of UMD's Language Science community.
